The 2013 Interscandic Hash will be hosted by the Copenhagen Hash House Harriers at Sandkaas Familiecamping on the lovely island of Bornholm
The dates are May 3-5 2013
The cost will be:
- * First 40 to pay = 170 Euro = 1270 DKK
- * Next 65 = 190 Euro = 1420 DKK
Legend has it that when the Gods had created the Nordic countries they had a bit left with all the best pieces of nature. They had a bit of the steepest rocks, the most foaming sea, the finest sand, the most beautiful views, and the most wonderful woods. With their big hands they kneaded all these bits together and then threw them far out in the Baltic Sea.
This is how Bornholm was created!
According to Yark Sucker... "Interscandic is on the magical fairy tale island of Bornholm. We did a recce last summer, and it is a very special place.
Hans Christian Andersen would frequent the island regularly in search of inspiration. Bornholm is also where he brewed the first Gammel Dansk in 1839. While perfecting his recipe, he first spoke with the "Little Mermaid". Gammel Dansk was also an inspiration for "The Saucy Boy".
However, the natural beauty of the island was also an inspiration for Hans, as there all tall white cliffs, scenic beaches and rolling green fields. The wildlife not only includes mermaids, yet also "Wild Swans" and cliff hanging trolls!
The architecture of Bornholm is very unique. The round churches and medieval castles gave Hans inspiration for "Ole the Tower Keeper" and "The Princess and the Pea".
